A beautiful spot in West London, not many people are aware how beautiful it is. Lots of wildlife and water, a great location for a walk and coffee

beautiful scenery. This is connecting to another park near by and was amazing to see all the wildlife. very peace full.

We enjoyed our unscheduled wander along the canal basin, there is a little museum and information hut where you must pop in and learn about the history of this unusual double-lock canal, Staff/volunteers were friendly and willing to chat (when not helping folks get through the lock). A heron suddenly appeared which made our morning.

Serenity!That's a summary of what I feel when I sit at my balcony.
The Brentford area is peaceful, serene, calm and a very good place for families. The community is lovely!
The canal side is simply heavenly and calming, either for a walk, sit down with family and friends to look at the ducks and their babies, or to cycle along all the way to Osterley . The boats on the canal adds colour and beauty.
There is a holiday Inn for those who want to spend a few days here, also Syon park is right by the corner where kids and adult can have fun in variety of activities.
There is a wide range of restaurants, cafes, local bars and Morrisons super market .
I have lived here for 3 years and I love it!

Good place to start a gentle cycle either south to Richmond via Syon Park or North to Osterley Manor.
Start with a coffee or breakfast at Feather and Heart or The Verdict cafes before heading on.

This recently rejuvenated area is bliss. A walk along the canal is certainly a treat with a great variety of birds including herons and cormorants. There are lovely buildings surrounding the basin area and a hotel. We look forward to our next visit to this area.

Went for a short walk alongside the canal while staying at a nearby hotel. The canal boats are a mixed bunch with some beautifully maintained. Some good coffee shops nearby

Brentford was a major centre for trade, where canal and rail met the tidal Thames. The basis is now a mixture of permanent and temporary moorings which attractive new flats instead of warehouses. The view to the GSK building is fabulous. Then a walk along the tow path to Boston Manor park is a favourite.

While staying at the Holiday Inn I went for a morning run from Brentford Lock north for a mile or so.
This is a tranquil haven and a surprising little gem to be found within Greater London. The town path is in reasonable condition but there appears to be plenty of places to explore when you have more time.
There is a lot of wildlife and I spotted a Cormorant and a Heron that flew past while I was out.
If you are in the area this is a place to find and explore. It is certainly a place that you could bring your dog as there places to explore for your four legged and waggy friend.
