The campus of this lighthouse has a museum of navy as well as view point at the end. One can buy tickets to clim atop this lighthouse. Super view from atop.

Contrary to what we were told, we could leave our shoes outside the door and climb all the way up the spiral stairs to the top of the neat and tidy Kannur lighthouse. Commissioned into service on 25 July 1976, it still functions. On a Sunday evening, we (6 friends), along with several others, gazed at the vastness of the Indian Ocean and the local ambience from the top of this well-kept lighthouse.

The Cannonore Lighthouse was constructed in 1975 and commissioned in 1976. An extremely well maintained lighthouse it forms part of the Cochin Lighthouse District. We visited the lighthouse on our recent trip to Kerala and were recommended to visit the place for the views. There is an entry fee to enter the lighthouse complex within which is the museum as also the lighthouse proper. The lighthouse uses 'D' type sealed beam lamps and lights up the skies every night. Its light can be seen from as far as Payyambalam Beach.
The view from the lighthouse is awesome and the right time to visit the place and climb to the top of the lighthouse tower is in the evenings just prior to sunset.

Surely one of the best attractions to visit in Kannur. Ideal time to visit would be during evenings when Sun heat has gone down. Not recommended for elderly people as there are a lot of steps to climb to reach the top of light house. Once on top, the experience is very unique & enjoyable.

Very well maintained by the authorities. It's allowed to climb to the top and enjoy spectacular views. The small museum is also very insightful. They also showed a shirt movie about lighthouses which I liked. Overall a great place.

Visiting LightHouse at Kannur brings excitement in terms of being historic property, science exhibition (a tiny exhibition room explaining the history, instruments used at lighthouse).

When we visited the light house was closed, hence it may be good to check before going. But the walk around the place, to see the light house from out is outstanding with the view which is akin to from a mountain top viewing the sea with the horizon. You could spend around an hour here enjoying the breeze and the views.

It’s a very nice place,calm. The garden is very well maintained and the view of the lighthouse is so nice. A place to recommend.

If you visit to Kannur, you must see the Kannur light house 🏠..
You can climb to top, and enjoy full view,

Which has a museum explaining the duties and history of Light house. In the evening there will be a musical fountain for enjoyment. Don't miss the view from the top of light house.
