I've just returned to Pucallpa, after spending a few hours in Yarinacocha. I was short on time, so paid a flying visit, travelling there and back by Moto taxi, which took about 15 minutes each way and was fun in itself! I had a walk around and then made my way down to the water, via Calle 2 De Mayo.
There were several guides in the area and I got talking to Mario, who gave me a number of options. Due to time constraints, we agreed on a 2-hour tour of the lake (after a bit of friendly haggling). He turned out to be the owner/pilot of the boat and we set off straight away, with me as the solo passenger.
During the trip, we saw a variety of wildlife, including a sloth with its baby, and we visited an island where Mario gave me a tour and showed me bananas and cacao growing, tarantula webs, massive trees and areas where crocodiles loiter at night. We also tasted a variety of fruits, some with medicinal benefits. He was an expert guide!
On returning to shore, Mario directed me back to the Moto taxis and I was back in Pucallpa very shortly after. I'd definitely recommend Mario, if you're looking for a reliable, friendly guide in the Yarinacocha Lake area!

Don't miss this. There is a great Eco Lodge with a pool and a restaurant on the lake. The food is really good. the pool is clean and nice!!! The kids will love this place. They have a small zoo with a big anaconda and Crocodiles.

Cuenta con varios atractivos turísticos en diversos puntos a la orilla de la laguna. Se puede ir sin necesidad de tours, llegando pueden consultar con los mismos que conducen los botes y armar el paquete de lugares que deseen visitar, por lo general cobran por horas el recorrido. Los precios pueden ir entre los 40 a 120 soles por pareja.

Fuimos a almorzar a la Anaconda, y luego decidimos tomar un paseo por la laguna, fue el descanso perfecto luego de una mañana de caminata y paseo. Recomiendo mucho hacer este paseo si visitas Pucallpa.

Combina naturaleza, muy buena oferta de platos regionales, show y música tropical. Solo falta mejorar el acceso, las pistas, mayor control y seguridad. Julio, agosto, setiembre los mejores meses para visitar.

Beautiful spot. Good place to take a boat ride across the lagoon. Good street food and market available. The animal preserve is interesting but a bit expensive and overated.

Es otro clásico para hacer si visitas Pucallpa. Hay varios restaurantes y otros actividades turísticas alrededor. Si sólo deseas dar un paseo en bote, desde mi punto de vista, lo mejor es hacerlo con cualquiera de las embarcaciones que se encuentran en el puerto, son más económicas que las agencias de viaje y visitan los mismos lugares

Al llegar a la Laguna te puedes asustar , hay mucho bullicio, basura, gente, jaladores para los botes atrás tuyo pero ya en el botecito es una muy linda experiencia, la laguna parece que nunca termina.
Eso si, creo que en mi caso se pasaron con el precio... fue de 120 soles por mi esposo, mi peque hija y yo; o la verdad fue justo no lo sé.
Pero me gustó la experiencia, luego el bote nos dejó en La Choza de la Anaconda donde almorzamos.

Luego de nuestra llegada a la hermosa ciudad de Pucallpa, nos recomendaron visitar esta hermosa laguna, del cual disfrutamos mucho. El ambiente es super relajante.

La orilla es un poco caótica, pero una vez que estás en un bote y recorres la Laguna todo es paz y paisajes.. tuvimos la suerte de ver delfines jugando.

Hi. Is this still going and are there departures from Pucallpa please?

Yarinacocha was a beautiful place to navegate and to known the little towns, communities of farmers of native people plus the Linguistic Instutute runed by one of the USA universities who were in charge of the studies of more than 50 ethnic group languages.By the end of the 60s the base of the Navi was there, the Catholic chapel with the Canadian Missionaries, elementariy schools,and the Civil authorities. Was beautiful, clean, and dignifying people. The lake provided fish and the surrounding lands: corn, beans, plantain, avocados rice, yuca, sugar cane, cacao and other native produces; it was for the visitors just a beautiful place to enjoy. Nowadays It is sad to see a damaged picture of it, specially not clean. But still a beautiful Lake.

Cierto amigo recien se esta trabajando con fuerza el tema del turismo, antes no se la dadba mucha importancia, ya sea por desinteres de autoridades pasadas o porque aun la zona no dependia mucho del turismo como en otros lugares, dado que la principal eje economico es la madera y no tanto el turismo,lo bueno que hae apenas un par de años ya se le esta dando mas importancia y por lo tanto mas promocion e inversion, tal es asi que se esta construyendo un moderno malecón, es un proyecto que estuvo paralizado, y que por fin ya fue retomado , debe estar terminado a mediados de Setiembre, va quedar espectacular una vez terminado, porque no solo sera el malecón, sino tambien tendra un boulevard artístico y cultural,miradores, un muelle para pescadores y otro muelle para botes turisticos una alternativa de solucion justamente en meses de lluvias donde todo se hace barro, el lago tiene mucho potencial que esperamos que una vez terminado el proyecto y otros mas que vienen en camino resalten aquella magica y misteriosa belleza del lago, si algún momento decide volver seguramente disfrutara mas de la verdadera belleza del lugar.

Hola, una consulta como hiciste para llegar a la Laguna, para que te cueste así? favor si me das los datos que viaja en esta semana y me gustaría conocer ese lugar. Restaurantes que recomiendas o donde un buen tacacho con cecina. Gracias

en una semana vas a viajar...jejjeje bueno quiza te sirva esta informacion despues de un año...jejje.. Solo llega y luego todo es barato la comida es deliciosa, restaurante son varios, hospedaje solo pregunta al mototoxista y te recomendara una bueno dodne estes cerca.. la movilidad no cuesta mas de 10 soles si estan en el centro hasta Yarina si vienes un finde semana sera una experiencia brutal... Bendiciones en tu viaje.
