After the last flood of 2018, a lot of rocks were re aligned in the bathing gatt. Hence, very unsafe to bath in the main falls. However, little falls, downstream, are open and safe.

Freshness of water is wordless. The speciality is this waterfall is really clean.Time with childrens in the family in here is really good. Compared to coutalam its really good bcz at coutalam its ugly place for family

Firstly, you need to travel in their bus ( from the parking ) for about 2 km inside the forest to get there. Towards the end of the day- they pack in more people and hence it gets crowded. About 500 m trek gets you to the falls. Lots of stairs - so if you are traveling with kids/elders, plan accordingly. Superb waterfalls- but risky.

One of the Great attraction near Thenmala.. Awesome location... There is a reception centre near Aryankavu check post.. They are providing van facility to reach the Palaruvi waterfalls.. ₹ 50 per person..
The drive to the waterfalls is most scenic.. through thick green forest..
Well maintained near falls..
There are guards always alert you..
You can get some snacks..
Don't miss when you are visiting Thenmala..

Palaruvi water falls is one of keralas most beautiful water falls. Which makes its way down from height of 300feet. A lot of tourist visit this spectacular sight to take bath under the water fall. Very natural place. I really like to visit this place. Water comes falling with me I really love that place and climate.Naturally good. It is make to you fullfill and happiness. Really awesome place people must will see this place. The Falls are nice. Could be made more attractive by making bathing areas more comfortable.

Visited Palaruvi on returning from Courtallam. Stayed overnight there in a private lodge madhuvanam resorts. It was more of a budget hotel. Very neat and quiet place behind which a stream is flowing. We had a wonderful stay there. Next day morning, went to the falls and it's beautiful. Compared to Courtallam, it is lesser known but much better than Courtallam.

We were a group of 5 cousins visiting Kutralam. While the falls in Kutralam were crowded early morning ( as the falls are open 24 x 7 well done Tamil Nadu) - we thought we will go to a less known waterfalls in Kerala (30 KMs away - depending on how you calculate the distance appears differently :) but you end up 30 :)). First thing is roads in Tamil Nadu are great , Kerala are not so. The scenes are brilliant though through the entire ride. The parking place is nice. You pay 50 RS for Parking and then another 50 Per person for the bus ride. The bus ride is simple for about 2-3 kms and you are at the base of the waterfall. You have to walk around 200-300 Metres and please ensure you walk with your slippers - as the approach has lot of little rocks and can be a pain. There are monkeys abound. There are two falls one very easily accessible for the ladies and one a little riskier for the men. The mens water falls has a small pool of water 4-5 feet deep and ends in waterfalls. We spent close to 3 hours in the pool and the fall alternating between each other. Lots of small fish nibbling away at your feet. Fresh water and fresh feeling. Once done we ate egg bonda and puttu at the KTDC stall - Very friendly staff. In all very very very well maintained. Kerala - you can be proud.

A lovely place to be after the monsoon. Well maintained by the Kerala Forest Department. Clean and plastic free. It could have been better if travellers were allowed to walk to the falls from the entry point. But then it would be not possible to control the litter and pollution. One can enjoy bath in the downstream. Great view of the falls from close proximity.

The water flow depends upon the rain and as of now , the winter has been set. You can expect reasonable flow, sufficient enough to take bathe. You can contact the tourism department at
