The museum is interesting, but I would like more interactive. The kids weren't very interested in just seeing the exhibits. I wanted to touch it, try it on. The square next to the museum is terrible. Dirty and untended.

A very large museum. A lot of exhibits. You have to take a tour, otherwise the satiation comes very quickly. We had hoped that the tours would be easy to join. Mistaken. There was one, and she was doing TV or something. I heard something in the back of my ear, but alas, it was uncomfortable to join. Guide was very interesting.
If benefits are available, take supporting documents. Muscovite's social card doesn't work.
Parking: very small and quickly clogged. Nearby streets too.
You can eat nearby in the Artistic Café or in the cafe of the Hotel "Zul" (100 m).

Took the full ticket + more extra to the cinema, decided to go through everything.
We were very pleased.
The programmes are interesting and relevant, given all the new knowledge about space.
The museum itself is very comfortable and modern, many exhibits, each has a qr code and a sign with detailed information.
Another plus:
comfortable dressing room,
there are places to sit,
- lots of toilets, no need to wander around looking

I liked the museum. Interesting exhibits, you can watch a movie or visit a 3D booth. Of course, it is better to visit it with a guide.

An amazing engineering museum (new building). Open space, many interesting exhibits, you can go into some of them, you get a real idea of the size of spacecraft. Outside from the museum site there are very beautiful views of the river.

This is not a trip-walk around the city, this trip is only to the museum for an excursion, so I won’t tell you much about the city.
According to established tradition, I will start with a description of the road (from Moscow to Kaluga). Good direction. The road is free, smooth, cleared. The entire length of the route is 4-lane. Winter forest. 2 paid sections, payment immediately on the spot in cash/card/transponder.
Only near Balabanovo a small section of the road requires repair (obvious holes in the asphalt).
Obninsk City of the first. It welcomes guests with a bright, attractive bridge. (I really want to go on a tour of the nuclear power plant.)
We enter Kaluga along the most stunning street, Kaluga-Bor: an untouched real forest almost in the center of the city! And there are trolleybuses!! Yes, we were delighted with them like children. (We live in Moscow on Kutuzovsky Prospect; we haven’t seen trolleybuses for a long time.)
So. About parking. Parking is difficult here. She doesn't exist. As such. It is customary to park along the road, it may be convenient, but it is prohibited by road signs. We found a permitted spot for our little car a little further away. (Winter, Saturday, approximately 14.00 - all nearby streets are already crowded and under prohibitory signs too.) Do not neglect the time reserve!
(I will not post photos of the exhibits; there are a lot of them on the Internet. I want to show you the environment, the external everyday part of the trip.)
The museum is very warm. A comfortable wardrobe, there is a chair (it’s quite possible for kids to take a change of shoes).
Tickets can be easily purchased on the official website gmik.ru, you just need to read everything very carefully. (Which objects this excursion covers, a separate entrance ticket.)
Depending on the season, you need to get tickets in advance: in the warm, dry season - two or three weeks in advance, now (end of January) I purchased tickets exactly a week in advance.
To complete the picture, a few words about the holy of holies - WC. Purely. It’s spacious enough for one person, but the cabin is not a royal one, and it will be a bit cramped to help a little one. Without smell. It's absolutely odorless! Even the music is quietly chirping and something like a ficus is resting on the windowsill.
Museum space. Comfortable. Free. Warm. There is an opportunity for tired travelers to sit. For those with mobility difficulties, elevators, stair lifts, and podiums are provided.
As in every Soviet museum, there are plenty of “caretaker aunties” here; they are present in every room, so if you urgently need to leave the general group with your baby, they will definitely tell you which direction to go and where.
But for some reason they do not pay the slightest attention to individual visitors who, without any twinge of conscience, join the excursion group. I am not a judge of anyone, everyone has their own conscience. There must be... Our guide Ksenia Petrovna has enormous patience! But by the last exhibit she had to unobtrusively remark: “I won’t be able to go into the station with you, there are too many of you.” Of course, we didn’t lose the information; we talked outside the station.
And keep one more thing in mind. This is a Soviet museum. In the full sense of the word. All exhibits are fenced. All! You can’t touch or press anything, you can only enter the station and the “rotation” room. What am I talking about? If your precious child is still young or brought up in the “a rope is not a fence” style, explain in advance how to behave here. It is very sad and offensive when a child reaches for some “thing” and immediately a clap of thunder is heard “You can’t! Don’t touch! It’s written!”.... Including the new building. Although it is declared interactive, in essence it is not.
There are actually a lot of exhibits. I won’t say a word about the content of the lecture - go and listen! I’m sure it will be interesting.
Our guide is Ksenia Petrovna. Thank you so much for the interesting story! Imagine what a titanic work it is to interest a “motley” group and keep their attention throughout the double excursion (historical building and the second stage)! Different ages of listeners (in our group there were schoolchildren from not the highest grades, and Ksenia Petrovna made sure to explain all the mathematical / physical terms), different interests, everyone had different education - everyone was interested! (At the end of Ksenia Petrovna’s story, general surprise arose: “How did it get dark already?? How did 2 hours pass?? They just came in...”)
At the souvenir kiosk, my child wanted to purchase a certain “dish” from the astronaut menu. Pleasure costs 500 rubles..
Friends, this is a whole attraction! If anyone's child wants to try it, don't miss the chance! Yes, it's 500 rubles, not 5 kopecks. Yes, it is completely inedible to the taste of earthly man (I knew this before). But it's not about the food! Not in food, that is. Process!! This is where the value is in the process! One warming up procedure made so many impressions! (I don’t advertise anything, I don’t even say that they bought it, I just share my emotions.) I will say one thing: if the child is not yet big, be nearby, follow and look after.
Have a good trip everyone!

For the first time in the State Museum of the History of Cosmonautics. K.E. We visited Tsiolkovsky two years ago - six months after the opening of the new building.
The museum captured our imagination! Unique exhibits, informative information stands, a large-scale, comfortable, truly cosmic building that forms a single whole with the cosmic treasures displayed in it.
On our first trip, we didn’t manage to get on the excursion, and so two years later we returned and luck smiled on us!
We went on an individual excursion led by the museum's senior researcher, Yulia Vladimirovna Turkina.
It was extremely interesting, it was clear that the person was passionate about his work, this was not just a memorized dry, standard text (as sometimes happens on excursions), it was a real journey into the past, present and future of astronautics! An hour and a half flew by unnoticed, we were ready to listen to Yulia Vladimirovna for another hour and a half and even more!
We sincerely wish the museum prosperity, decent funding, grateful, interested visitors and all the best!
P.S. Yulia Vladimirovna, thank you very much for the excursion, good health to you and your like-minded people, may all your planned projects come true, peace and goodness!
Sincerely,
Matveev family.

Nice museum, great renovation, much more interesting
There is more interactivity, which is great, but sometimes interactive panels do not work, and if there are large queues there

A good museum, children and adults will definitely find it interesting. I don’t recommend buying a ticket to the film or the simulator, it’s pointless entertainment. The films at the Moscow Planetarium are much more interesting. In all other respects, everything was done at a decent level.
