I’ve played here a few times now and it’s always subpar maintenance. Lots of divots everywhere even on the green. The ground is rock solid; can’t even stick your tee in, causes the balls to bounce everywhere. Rushed play, tee time are so close together even with the pandemic.

Took my son there for his 31st birthday. Played 9 holes then went in for lunch and back to play the remaining nine holes. Have done this many times at other courses in Barrie but apparently you are not suppose to stop to have lunch according to the course warden who harassed us while finishing the last few holes. He insisted that we were taken too long to play and should not have stopped for lunch. He noted the course time is 4 and a half hours. We completed it in four hours and that is with timeout for lunch. I have never ever been harassed like this at others golf courses. I will stick with courses I know. That will teach me for giving them my business, never again Bradford Highlands. Totally uncalled for treatment. Felt embarrassed for my sons friend who joined us who had driven from Angus.

Hi Daryl,
I'm very sorry that your group had a bad experience here at Bradford Highlands. Customer service is our number 1 priority and we strive to make everyone's experience as pleasant as possible. I spoke with all the staff that was working yesterday and I understand that the course marshals were only doing their jobs that I assigned them too.
It is club policy that we keep a pace of play no more then 4 hours and 16 minutes per group. Our club rules are clearly posted on our score cards as well as a time par per hole that we hope all golfers adhere too. I understand that different playing levels and experience can waiver this ideal time, especially on busy days like Sunday, but it is the marshal's job to help golfers along so that they don't fall behind. On the official starter sheet for the day, he had your group starting at 8:48am but with a 5 minute delay, your group teed off at 8:53am. As you finished at 1:50 pm, we had an official time of 4 hours and 57 minutes.
However, we do have new staff upstairs and I take full responsibility for them not informing you that through 9 holes, we only serve quick take out items. This assures that the pace of play doesn't change and that the round of golf flows as smoothly as possible for all golfers. Only after the full round do we serve sit down items. It looks like that if the group didn't stop for a sit down lunch, it may have been a reasonable time for the day. Unfortunately, the marshals only see the time a group tees off and assesses them based what hole they are on vs. time. This is where the problem was.
I have been assured by the head marshal yesterday that he never raised his voice to your group or harassed you in any way. He was only trying to appease the golfers behind you. Since the group just jumped out on the tee after lunch, it bothered the people behind and caused a delay. Again, the marshal was only following golf club policies.
Again, our goal is to make sure everyone has a good day and that they get a speedy round.

Played this course numerous times throughout the summer and fall because it offers good value. You get a reasonably well maintained and challenging course for the money. You would need to spend at least 75% more to play a better course. I recommend it to all my fellow golfers

Our twosome golfed Highlands for the first time on a hot Monday afternoon. It wasn't very busy, and we were pleased not to be teamed up with another twosome. We were able to tee off a few minutes early, and play moved along the entire afternoon.
Motorized carts are mandatory until mid afternoon. Cart fees are $18 CAD per person.
We both enjoyed the course. Fairways are wide, and the apron is playable. The course has minimal water hazards but narrow overgrown creeks cross the fairways on several holes. You have to watch for them because they're not readily visible from the tees.
Sand traps were not in good condition when we played. A few traps were so hardened that it was like trying to hit the ball off concrete.
The greens were in pretty good shape but unreliable. Some were fairly slow, and others were rocket fast.
The course is hilly, but not to the point that play becomes difficult or annoying.
The parking lot is unpaved, so watch for dust storms during traffic, if it happens to be a windy day.
The ladies restroom adjacent to the pro shop needs renovation. Several women come in overheated after playing and wanted to spruce up before dining upstairs. There's one tiny sink and no counter space. If you stand in front of the sink, you block the doors to both stalls. You can't fit three people in the ladies room at a time. I've never been to another public golf course with such minimal facilities for women's comfort.
There are zero restrooms on the course. There's a portable toilet adjacent to one of the holes, but that might be for construction workers. They're building a housing development next door.
The beverage cart comes around frequently with typical items for sale. If you plan to play Highlands, check out the Entertainment book for a discount coupon.
