When I heard we will be going to Cebu for my birthday, I was really hoping to attend a mass on my birthday. I was glad I was able to spend it in Sto. Nino church. For those who do not know, this was the church that was destructed by the earthquake last 2013, but despite all that, the church is still standing strong. The mass is held outside the church in a somewhat like a grandstand area, where chairs are provided at the 4sides of it if you want to have shade from the heat of the sun or you can opt above where there are stair like seats where you can sit on them but just don't forget to bring an umbrella with you.
For someone like me, who attended the mass for the first time, I had noticed that when the mass has ended, people would wave their hand goodbye to the sto nino replica located at the center top most of the church. The people would also be crowded going to the center or near the stage because the priest will bestow his blessing with a holy water to the people, who wants to be blessed.
Behind, there is also a place where you can light a candle and offer your prayers, and you can just take a candle, and pay on the donation boxes beside. The famous Magellan's cross can also be found here, there are ladies who offers you candles at 10pesos each and once buying it, they will offer a dance to the cross while singing the prayers you wanted them to pray. My mom let one lady dance for her intentions, she prayed for my sister to get a good rank in her NMAT exam. This offerings were said to be effective if you truly believe in them, the offer is being given to the patron saint sr. Sto. Niño.
For those who would want to offer there intentions, there is a prayer room behind where you can write your intentions for the souls of your loved ones or just a simple thank you or if you are praying for something to happen. You then place any amount that you can donate and drop it on the box for intentions also placed inside.
There is also a room where religious items are sold, such as rosaries, Sto. Niño statues, cross, braceletes, candles, hostias (for communion) prayer booklets and posters.
To sum it up, the experience was holy and the prayer I had prayed for was answered instantly after a day, one just need a good intention, pure heart and a leap of faith.

This is the home of the Sto Nino or little child Jesus and since Pilipinos have a huge devotion to Sto Nino, this church is one of the most visited churches in the Visayas region. The church is also very near the Magellan's cross, another tourist attraction/landmark in the city of Cebu.
Outside the church, visitors will see a lot of vendors selling candles, balloons and other religous items.
