This museum is a must-visit for any travelers in North Kazakhstan. That being said, a working knowledge of Russian or Kazakh would help to fully understand the exhibits. There is one guide who speaks English currently. The significance of Abylai Khan, who essentially unified the Kazakhs for eventual statehood, is portrayed comprehensively with many original artifacts. The site itself is historically important to Kazakh history, as the museum building (ground floor) was the khan's former residence. Located not far from the city center, it is currently letting folks in for free. I can't imagine how long that will last - so make sure you check it out soon!

Вход бесплатный и экскурсия тоже. Смотреть самим не удобно, нет почти ни каких надписей. Так что смело берите экскурсию. Профессиональный экскурсовод расскажет о жизни великого Хана. Много интересных экспонатов вы там увидите. Нам с женой очень понравилось. Музей и экспонаты в отличном состоянии.

Area after area of something amazing! Everything is labeled and explains exactly what you want to know.
Your not bothering or hurried by a tour guide or curator. You can go at your own pace and truly enjoy this fantastic museum.
What an amazing place past and present blended with alot of pride.

During our short visit to the top of Kazakhstan we dropped in to the Museum Complex Residence Abylai Khan to see what treasures it holds. It has a really superb collection of artifacts and culturally significant pieces from the area going back 500 years or more. The staff on hand were terrific and we practiced our language skills with them as they told us about the museum and the exhibits. It is a wonderful place that more people should take the time to visit. If we ever get back up this way we certainly will drop in again.

Рекомендую брать экскурсию,чтобы лучше узнать историю и этнографию Казахстана.Очень интересная экспозиция о жизни Хана.представленная одеждой ,оружием.Интересные панорамы в виде игрушечных сражений

Мелоизвестный комплекс-музей находится чуть в стороне от центра города и в первую очередь будет интересен любителям истории, экспонаты музея которым даже за 500 лет сохранились в идеальным состоянии

The museum is quite a revelation. It houses some of the most awesome artifacts of Kazakh history I have ever seen. The degree to which they have preserved these artifacts is highly commendable - it shows how much they value their past. By the reception we got, it was evident that not many foreigners visit this place. We were treated like celebrities.

Резиденция находится в тихом районе городе по улице Сутюшева. Подходит для прогулок, мне нравится там просто быть. Территория ухожена: цветники и газон, есть лавочки, очень чисто. Огромный памятник Абылай хану. Внутри музей.
