The artist paints stunning watercolors that show Skye in all its glory and his daughter creates beautiful contemporary jewelry. Left with a beautiful giclee print.

My partner and I went into the gallery hoping to find a painting of the sound of sleat to represent our holiday in the area. While browsing in gallery, which should have been an enjoyable experience, we were exposed to the political rantings and inappropriate comments with regards to gender, from the artist when he was talking to another customer. Needless to say we left the gallery without purchasing anything. Luckily we drove along the road to the Nigel Grounds Gallery where we found a much warmer reception and purchased 3 paintings.

Very easy to find at the end of the road/track through Aird. We spent quite a long time chatting to the lady of the house. Her husband and their daughter are both artists; but neither was there when we visited. Peter McDermott produces stunning watercolours and prints; Heather, lovely comtemporary jewellery. It's Heather's working studio; a lovely ramshackle building next door to the family house
The beautiful Isle of Skye evidently provides great inspiration for the two of them. Peter has a Czech uncle; there are some interesting Czech artifacts on the outside of the gallery.
There was no sales pressure; we were happy to buy a print as a souvenir of our holiday in Skye. The gallery is well worth visiting, especially as you can then take the walk right to the southern most point of Skye (us oldies only made it to a fantastic, golden sandy beach (a rarity on Skye, so well worth seeing).
