This Fort is built so many years ago but till now destroyed so much due to attack of my workings even after you can see here good environment and you can identify some marks which indicate that there was port here. You should see once in your life.

Steeped in history The Shanimahatma Temple in Pavagada town is famous and attracts devotees from far-off places. Tiny lanes next to the Temple lead to the foothills of Pavagada Fort. These streets are not well maintained.
The stink of human waste, piles of plastic, destroyed interiors of the enclosures, and broken fort walls indicate the lack of maintenance and human apathy towards it. If one ignores all that, a two-hour-long trek will take you to the two large towers...
The sturdy Fort is in a better condition holding evidence to the indigenous engineering skills of the period. The Fort is said to have witnessed many royal battles.

Though place is not that good, its worth to visit one time. Climb was tiring to me. Take a cap, water else sun hits like anything.Just Fort on top of hill is the attraction. You can roam around the hill a bit. No monkeys found in the climb. you can also visit shani temple which is in the pavagada town.

Its just a another fort built on a hill, no proper maintenance, entrance, parking. Parked in the street and went up. You need to climb the hill by the steps, sun is scorching and literally no one is there, I'm the only one walking on that Sunday.
While climbing troop of monkeys is there, one came near and pulled my leg and I said i have nothing to offer you. Its simply left there and it is the only interaction i had in the whole expedition.
There is no fort just a remains of fort, climb up and climb down and I did it in 1 hr(30-up, 30 - down).
If you go with group of friends in morning or evening it may be fun, other wise postpone this plan.

The port has got high historical importance and need to be maintained well. But ,it seems it is being neglected. Anyway, the fort area is very beautiful and even if the port itself is in shambles, nevertheless ,it attracts a large number of tourists

If you have the time and an adventurous spirit, take a detour on route between Bangalore and Hyderbabad to the busy town of Pavgada and its imposing fort, keeping sentinel on a rocky outcrop above the town. It’s a solid 45-60 minute climb up the old stone stairway. The views from the 500 year-old ramparts are stunning and well worth the effort, and you’ll be rewarded with the knowledge that you’re one of only a handful of travellers who’ve ever scaled this medieval site. There’s not much remaining of the fort itself, but it’s an evocative place where you can have a picnic breakfast or spend an hour exploring the hilltop. It’s also a great place to watch the sunrise, however don't attempt the climb in summer when temperatures can sore to over 45 degrees. You won’t need a guide, however ask directions to the entrance gate from vendors or townsfolk near the temple in the centre of Pavagada.
