‪Danke für die Super Waikiki Lesson!! Das hat mich ein ganzes Stück vorangebracht. Bemerkenswert wieviele Wellen man in einer Stunde auf dem Wasser haben kann. Super Line Up handling, Super nette und sehr hilfreiche Coaches. DANKE!!!‬

‪I surfed for 12 sessions during 4 consecutive days: intermediate and advanced. The wave is OK - very nice take-off - fun start section but then messy middle one to pass and then a short one - in all a bit short and disappointing. I enjoyed the constant paddling back in contrast to Snowdonia, where you stop and wait between waves.

It is a very good opportunity to test gear or an alternative to the ocean - one not to miss.

Staff are overall nice - and restaurant and shop good.

However, who in their right mind would place the parking 10-15 min. walk away from the very place?
I learned a long boring story about the permission of land bla bla bla etc. - fair enough.
But why not put in a shuttle to and from? Or let customers with lot of luggage unload their cars and then park outside?
If you go there for one day and are renting all your gear - then all good, no worries.
But if you have travelled to UK by plane and then end up here with your board(-s or longboard) and wetsuit(s) etc luggage in order to do 12 sessions - and you have to do the “walk of shame” to and from every day during 4 days (stayed at nearby hotel as the in-house tents are for 6-8 people), then you get time to think about the arrogance of the signs along the walking path saying:” this is your warm up” !!!
I dont mind carrying load or making an effort for getting to a surf spot - but here you are paying a considerable price per session.

I had a talk with the manager about the situation, which he seemed to understand and made an exception to let my board stay overnight - however next day I found it lying around and was told by a staff member that the arrangement was off and the manager not present.‬

‪BEWARE vouchers expiring. There is NO flexibility whatsoever. Customer services are very slow at replying and are very unhelpful when they do reply.
Even with extenuating circumstances they will not extend the date of expiry.
Their manner was unreasonable, rude and almost hostile.
Would rather leave 0 stars but had to fill in 1 star in order to leave a review‬

‪Although it was freezing weather our two instructors were smiling and very keen to teach us how to surf. The instructions were clear and there was no rush. The experience in the water was everything I had hoped for. I have tried to surf before but the conditions have never been right and this time I did manage to get up on the board. We'll be back.‬

‪Excellent time at the Wave on the beginners class.
Very helpful and cheerful staff, well instructed and great fun
Equipment was in good condition and very warm wet suits, gloves and boots (which are definitely needed this time of year.‬

‪The place itself is nice to go to but it is obvious they are relying on being the only business of this nature with no competition. They have zero customer service, it is impossible to get through to anyone on the phone and it takes over a week to receive a response to time sensitive emails. God help you if you book a session and need to amend it (even within their 7 day grace period).
I bought several 'bundles' as I have done every year since they opened, but this year I was unable to use 3 surfs due to an unexpected change in circumstances. I emailed the wave in good time to request a 3 month extension but was refused.
I understand the terms and conditions state you have to use your bundles within a specific time frame, but to have zero flexibility with this has made me never want to buy a bundle again, and to limit the number of times I go to wave to as few as possible. With no options to talk to a member of staff, and very slow email response times, if you ever have any issues it is almost impossible to get any support at all. It is a shame as I have been going to the wave since it opened and have always enjoyed going there, but I cannot support a business that does not offer any customer support and spends no money on ensuring they have a customer service team. Clearly they are relying on the fact that they have no competitors, yet. God help them when they do.‬

Although we understand your frustrations may we assure you that our customer service team work very hard in ensuring all emails get answered within 72 hours, however it is almost nearly always much quicker than this, as well as maintaining a high answer rate for phone calls. If you are still waiting for a response, please may you email in again so we can make sure that we have not missed your email and have answered all questions you may have. Please note, we still have plenty of surfs until the end of the year for you to be able to use your bundles surfs on. Many thanks, The Wave Team

‪I don’t think other less favourable reviews quite understand how amazing this facility is and how lucky they are. Yes, the lockers need an update but where else can you get perfect waves for an hour? I will be back.‬

‪An amazing place - fantastic waves to develop your skills on and work up through the settings.
The water isn't the colour it used to, but its safe.
Great atmosphere out in the queue.
Good coffee too.‬

‪The Wave is a fantastic facility with fantastic staff, coaches and ideals. The sustainability focus is admirable and it has the potential to be world-class. However, as it is an expensive place (no problem there, but it is pricey) the expectations are high and it is slightly let down by two key elements. The first (hopefully, very easily fixed) is that the electric chargers in the car park don not function at all - completely dead. Not a great help to the sustainability drive. Secondly and more important, is that, despite a queuing system is in place on the water in the Reef section, there is no effective queue management. This leads to blatant queue jumping, with the direct result that better behaved customers can miss out on their waves. We were there on 24th October, for a Waikiki lesson and surf and whilst the system was well explained and adhered to by those in our class (10 of us), the non-lesson participants in the surf session, en masse, just ignored the queue. Both adults and children repeatedly pushed ahead and went out of turn, with the result that the whole session finished with several customers having missed the final waves. The management had to turn the machine back on, just to get everyone back to the beach! The extra cost caused to the facility in putting the waves back on would justify proper queue management alone. It really took the shine off the session. There needs to be an improvement on this front before I would consider returning - it's just too expensive not to be a 5 star experience.‬

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to write this valuable feedback. We're so happy to hear you think our staff and facilities are fantastic, we do to! We have been struggling with issues with our electric chargers, we will contact the support team to have a look at these again as they are an important infrastructure for our electric car customers. It is disappointing to hear that the surfers were not adhering to the queuing system, a big aspect of surfing etiquette. We are always looking for opportunity to improve the experience we can provide, and this feedback will enable us to carry out further training with our surf ops team so they can let the surfers know the importance of this system and the impact it can have on a session running smoothly. Therefore, enabling everyone to have an enjoyable experience. Thank you again, The Wave Team
