Whilst the chocolate museum was very interesting I found the chocolate to be very overpriced and not to my liking .
The coffees we ordered took over 15mins to arrive and was on the weaker side .

We stopped in for some samples. They used to be much more generous in the good old days but we got some dark and white buds. The prices are really high now so we don't buy any more.

We visited this establishment as part of a group tour from the cruise ship. The production at the time was Easter Eggs and we were able to watch the process from behind the glass windows. Whilst the chocolate was tasty it is quite expensive and to be honest if it wasn’t for the fact that it was part of an organised tour I wouldn’t make the effort. The ice cream was nice though.

We stopped in here on the drive back down South for old times sake. The samples are not as good as they used to be. But they do give you one whole truffle in a little bag. The prices are not the factory outlet prices they used to be. It is now more for the tourists than us locals.

Chocolate lovers need to stop here. Fabulous hot chocolate and a variety of deserts available along with a pretty decent selection of chocolates to buy or icecream.

The House of Avers, on the Bass Highway at Latrobe, is a chocolate factory and cafe, which provides you with information about the history of chocolate making and a collection of museum pieces which illuminate that history. Lots of chocolate moulds. You can also watch chocolatiers doing their thing on the other side of the glass, which was fascinating. Sue went shopping. Wyndarra Lodge, as the building was formerly known, is an oversized Californian bungalow, built in 1931.

Opens at 7am, straight off the Spirit and chocolate waffles and cheese platter for breakfast-what a great start to 5 weeks in Tasmania, don't miss the display out the back-the chocolate Tassie Devil is now our bench mark to all things made from Chocolate, you really do expect him to move before your very eyes!

We had a fabulous lunch here. The baguettes and club sandwiches are packed with beautiful fresh ingredients and great value. Service was good and staff were very friendly. The shop has lots of options for the chocoholic! Highly recommended

Delicious chocolates and truffles, good coffee, and a nice glimpse into the workings of the factory.
Despite the pouring rain our daughter had to have ice cream, and we found a quiet viewing platform out of the way for her to eat out of the downpour.
Lots of people around - a very popular place. I would try to avoid the shop/tasting house if a bus group is in there, but that says more about the behaviour of people on bus tours than it does about the venue. Not a huge shop for when it’s crowded, but the chocolate is worth it!
