Easy to find on an English or Chinese map app, and taxi drivers know the name. I wasn’t expecting much, as the lobby was a little devoid of people, but the staff at the front desk were very amiable, and I had a translator who helped me get the room. They gave me my keycard and directions, and I walked in and was impressed. It lives is to its standard. Mini fridge, closet, big living area, comfortable bed, adjustable thermostat, and even an English Channel on the TV! The WiFi was quite usable, and I went to bed satisfied. Until I realized the room was too hot, I messed with the Thermostat for a while, but no matter what I did, it didn’t get cooler. I didn’t bother calling the front desk because I knew they didn’t speak English. So I had a lot of trouble falling asleep. This was my biggest problem, I feel it can be overcome if you talk to the staff before 1am, when I realized it. The bathroom was perfect, overhead shower with good hot water, and water pressure. The robe and towels were great. The provided shampoo and body wash was ok, and got the job done. The only other problem I had was my electric kettle didn’t work, so no morning tea, and I didn’t have time to call the front desk and have them mess with it. Again, something that can be fixed with a little time. I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt that they’re still quality, and I my room just needed a little help. All in all, a quality stay. I’ll stay there again if I go back to Kaiyuan. …
