Want to rate this 1/5 so it stays quiet! Andy is a brilliant host… the local area is simply stunning and the facilities within the rental cottages excellent. Having visited 19 Scottish islands and the highlands regularly, this is comparable on every level. Great little shop on site selling local produce. Will be back every year!
Absolutely magnificent experience, we had two nights here, we were treated like royalty, could not have enjoyed it more, thank you Robin and Andy. Beautiful lodgings, walk the gardens, peaceful landscapes, amazing food, great local pub, history everywhere, would've loved to have more time here to explore more of the country side.
We were lucky enough to stay in Stag Cottage recently. Kilmartin is so beautiful and we felt completely shielded from the world when we were there. TOTAL relaxation and we had some wonderful times with our son and granddaughter. So many places to explore, the history is really quite something. We were very privileged to be given a private viewing of the castle, by very kind & humble owners & residents. I think it was one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to in the world. We came all the way from Australia and fully intend to make a return trip.
We loved Scotland but staying in Duntrune was so special-- we stayed with Andy and Lucy in Ardifur and more wonderful hosts you could not ask for. Michelin level chef! Finding the castle is a bit of a challenge but really worth persisting. Kilmarten was also charming.
We booked a week at "The Bothy" as a getaway for our anniversary. First of all we were blessed with superb weather for the last week in April - but nobody has control over that! We had a warm welcome into The Bothy, with local fresh eggs, milk and butter and a home made loaf of bread. The cottage was beautiful and clean with a basket of logs ready by the fire. Everyone we met on the estate was wonderful and welcoming and we loved the fact that they dropped in and chatted and shared a dram with us on a few evenings. A new log burner made the lounge so warm and toasty - you could just fall asleep on the sofa anytime with it on. The kitchen was well equipped and the bedroom was lovely and bright - maybe even too bright because we woke early every morning because the weather was so nice! A walk up to the garden is a must and just around the estate roads you could see so much. The views just outside "The Bothy" were spectacular and so uplifting. We loved our week here - so much so that we have vowed to return. Thank you for a lovely week. Ian & Sheila.…
