ABC Eco Lodge was probably our favorite place to stay while visiting Bhutan, even though our room was probably the coldest of all the rooms we stayed in! Our room was comfortable and spacious, with one full bed and one twin, wood flooring and furniture, a large electric radiator in the room and another wall radiator in the bathroom. Plenty of hot water. We were on the top floor of the two-floor bungalow, with incredible views of the surrounding fields and mountains, as well as a view of Gangtey Goempa monastery. The food was excellent and there was no problem for them to make all our meals vegetarian. Our only suggestion: Since electricity is so inexpensive in Bhutan, it would be great if hotels began equipping their beds with heated mattress pads, that would really make a difference in an otherwise cold room.…
The welcome to this lodge was great with tea and home made cookies. But the heating in the room really didn’t work well and so in winter, it was really cold. The lodge is in a beautiful valley and the food was well prepared. Service stands out.
The beautiful and luxury of this lodge are hard to explain... such a long way down a winding road we thought the bus might not make. There wasn't wifi and we had a few power outages over our two night stay with GAdventures... but everything was beautiful. The staff were so friendly, we all became like family within ours. I will be back!
The ABC Eco Lodge was probably my favorite location to stay in Bhutan. There is no Wifi and it is in a peaceful valley next to a stream. It could not be any more serene. There are 2 rooms per structure and each room has full height ceilings with a view of the valley and the monastery. It is wonderful. My room was clean, stylish, well heated and comfortable. The main dining area was fun with a wood burning stove and filled with travelers and their guides and drivers all warming up and sharing stories. I really enjoyed this part of my trip a great deal and recommend this space for anyone that wants to shut off their technology and look around. Also, I forgot a shirt in my room and they were able to coordinate with a guide staying there the following night to get my shirt back to me. It was very sweet.…
Stayed here for 1 night and similar to the place I stayed in Bumthang is a simple but cosy place with a great view. The staff where friendly and again the meals were typical home cook dishes (vegetarian and 1 meat) and in large proportion. Getting to this place is a bit more tricky cause the road is suited for proper off road driving. But once you arrive you get a good view of the surrounding areas including the Gangtey Gompa monastery located on top of the hill. The buildings are newly built and the rooms are large and spacious. There is a balcony whichever floor you stayed and it looks out towards the valley and monastery especially sunrise. Surrounding the lodge are local farms. An ideal place if you want to stay off the grid (no wifi) and enjoy the surroundings.
