Hi There, I visited Monte casino last saturday. It's great place for people interested in playing cards, casino stuff and gambling.. Its well good place to chill, play, drink. There are some restaurants also available inside almost all types - finger food and dinner. There is a theater as in this building. so one can watch and movie. All in all its a must visit.
Despite having almost no reviews on TripAdvisor or Hostelworld.com, I chose to book beds at Monte Casino Lodge & Backpacker due to the location. As the name suggests, this hostel is only minutes away from the Monte Casino. A friend and I had tickets to a show at the casino, and we would not be out until around 23:00. We had a rental car, but I was not confident in my ability to drive a manual transmission on the "wrong" side of the road IN THE DARK, so I therefore wanted to sleep as close to the casino as a pauper's budget would allow. We intended to check into the hostel during daylight hours, prior to seeing the show...but a very long round of golf in the afternoon (6.5 hours to play 18 holes) meant that we were running late and had to go straight to the casino. I called the hostel to warn them that we would be checking in late, but nobody answered the phone. After the show (maybe 23:30?), we drove to the hostel (slightly too far away to walk), and found that it is located in a secure area past a manned guard station. The hostel itself is surrounded by a wall and locked gate. We rang the bell on the gate and were very grateful when somebody shuffled out to allow us inside. We were the only two guests in a four bed dorm. The room was very basic - just four walls and two bunk beds. The bedding was sufficient, and everything looked clean enough to me (my standards are not high, I admit, but for $8 I'm not expecting satin pillow cases!). The room DID lock, but with a fat metal key and keyhole system, like was popular in the victorian era. You know, those big keyholes you can press your eye against and spy on people plotting conspiracies - that kind. We left for the airport the next morning, so I didn't explore the hostel's amenities. I was unable to use the advertised Wi-Fi, but I don't recall why. I did shower, however, and I was impressed by the shared facilities! There were several bathrooms, each with a spacious, glass-enclosed shower. Each room also contains a sink and toilet, and the entire area locks from the entry door. I can see a potential problem if all of the bathrooms - I think there were four on our hall - are occupied by shower-users, leaving no available toilets for people who just need to pee. The hostel advertises bus station and airport pick-up, which is a very useful service. It is also possible to access the hostel using a Guatrain/bus combo, and they say they will meet guests at the bus stop to guide them to the hostel (which is deep in a residential area). We did not use these services, so I cannot attest to the ease. There was secure parking for our rental car on the hostel grounds. All in all, Monte Casino Lodge and Backpacker in entirely adequate as a place to sleep. It's not a "party hostel" by any means, but the proximity to the casino makes it an excellent option for people using the Monte Casino's entertainment opportunities who do not want to pay for an expensive hotel room AT the casino.…
worst place I've ever seen in my entire life! reception lady looks like she is the maid. rooms and bathrooms are filthy. bedding and matresses have spots on, you don't know what it really is. doors have no locks or keys.
