bientot cet hotel change de direction et espere pouvoir vous satisfaire au mieux dans l'avenir
My husband and I planned a night in Wimereux with another couple and booked two double rooms on line at the Cyprin Hotel . We regularly pop over to France with our friends for a Saturday night and stay in a hotel in Boulogne or surrounding areas. Unfortunately, on the weekend we were going our usual hotels were full, so as we knew Wimereux rather well but had never stayed overnight, we chose the Cyprin Hotel as their website looked rather promising. However, upon arrival we were asked to pay for the rooms and breakfast, which was rather unusual, but we paid in cash up front. We got to our rooms and started tp unpack. Then we noticed that the ceiling above the bed in our room looked as if there had been a leak. My husband felt the bed and it was soaking. He went downstairs to speak to reception but they suddenly got very unco-oeprative and dismissed our complaint. They suggested we just moved the double bed, which wouldn't be possible as, apart from being soaking wet, there was nowhere to move it. I remained in the room while my husband was downstairs and the leak was getting worse - more water dripping down. The other couple joined my husband downstairs and matters got worse. The guy on reception, after much arguing, grudgingly accepted that he would return the money for our room but said that there was nothing wrong with our friends' room so they would have to stay. We knew (and the hotel also confirmed to us) that there were no rooms available that night in the Cyprin or other hotels in Wimereux. So, again, with much heated discussion in which we explained that we had all arrived in one car, we were both given our money back. The attitude of the hotel was very unpleasant and we will never even consider staying in that hotel again. The impression we got was that they were aware of the problem but were trying their luck! Never again - there are far better hotels in Wimereux!!…
My husband and I found this hotel in Wimereux by luck. We spent a very enjoyable weekend there. There is a choice of room sizes and prices. The accommodation was clean and very comfortable. We ate in the restaurant one night too, and had a very good meal although it was a little overpriced. Wimereux was an unexpectedly interesting place to stay with lots to see and do. The beach and promenade is huge and very popular with all ages with bars and cafes, play areas for children and fantastic views. Don’t miss walking down to take a look at the old war time bunkers which were once up on the cliff top, and have been exposed where the cliff is eroded. One of them has fallen onto the beach and rocks and is easily accessible at low tide.
The hotel is situated on the main street of Wimereux. When we stayed it was undergoing refurbishment, but this did not detract from the warm and friendly welcome we recieved on arrival. Well behaved dogs are welcome, but not in the restaurant. The food is delicious and well presented, and Madams' foie gras is deffinately worth sampling! Breakfast is typically continental, and is served either downstairs, or can be delivered to your room for a small additional cost. Overall this is a charming and warm small hotel, that I will be using again.
