High ceiling, 40's design, very large rooms. Excellent breakfast in the spacious dining room. Great location 5 minutes walk from the center. We eat kosher, and yet we have been using our tools for cooking and eating. Warm, professional and quality personal attitude

We booked this hotel from the U.K. via 7ideas who promptly confirmed the reservation. We travelled by taxi using Sr. Leiner Perez Taxi firm ( telephone 52716387). Having travelled 4 hours from Varadero, we were glad to be shown to our room which was clean, air conditioned with ample space, had a private bathroom and mini bar. There was also a safe. The hotel is within walking distance to The Plaza Major and other attractions. Breakfast was extensive and included. There is a charming roof top terrace bar where one can enjoy a superb Mojito, mixed by a very knowledgeable bar man, whilst being serenaded by the quartet 'Coincidencia'- who are great. Guests can eat or drink in the restaurant or a cool plant filled courtyard which provided a needed fresh breeze. We popped next door to the more expensive Grand Iberostar for a drink. We found the service poor in comparison and eventually left without receiving a drink. We found walking around at night no problem and we were not hassled in any way. We had un wittingly booked a night during the town's 50th anniversary so a major fiesta was in play. however, we felt safe and welcomed by the local people. Many of the shops in Trinidad provide the same mass produced 'paintings' and carvings. If you want something different....... of quality.... we found a silver smith at work creating exquisite jewellery. We nearly missed his workshop which is small and just off the street. His name is Orbein Licor Zayas on Franciso Javier Zerquera 407 A - Well worth a visit. Silver rings and earrings of original design are worth buying at approximately 40 CUC. We also stumbled on Alicia Fernandez Pomanez, a wood sculptress also affiliated to the Cuban artist Association. She makes all items in wood by hand Calle Jose Marti 303. The Iberostar next door was plush, snobby and did not give good service. This hotel, E La Ronda is recommended for service and good value for money.…
