Just spent a sleepless night here. Upon entering our "high floor" room on the 3rd floor, the room smelled musty with a slight hint of dog and as soon as I sat on the bed, I knew it was going to be a difficult night. The bed reminds me of my daughter's crib mattress - like sleeping on a dense, solid foam block. Tried to go to sleep about 9:30PM and couldn't because we could hear people talking and doors slamming until about 1:00AM. At one point someone was playing reggaeton music. After all that settled down, any time anyone moved in the bed the whole bed bounced so it was impossible to fall asleep. I went down to breakfast in the morning, which didn't look too appetizing. I passed on the sausage patties that were swimming in a watery, brown liquid. The eggs looked OK. I took a bite of one and bit into something crunchy so I spit that out and resolved to go to Starbucks. I was planning on staying in the room and working until checkout but there was a dog barking in the room next door nonstop so we checked out early. I saw as many dogs here as I did people. I don't want to stay in a dog hotel. These days, it's difficult to find hotels, especially in CA, that don't allow pets. Many of those that do have designated floors or rooms for people who bring their pets to stay in. I don't think that's the case here. Book a room here and chances are, someone's dog was sleeping/pooping/peeing/drooling in that spot just before you got there.…
This is a new hotel, about two months old. As a new hotel they are still working some of the kinks out, which is why their service was below standard. The hotel itself is very nice. The rooms were nice and large, fully equipped with refrigerator, stove, microwave and dishwasher. The bed was comfortable and linens comfortable and clean. The bathroom was large and also very clean. The gym is small, but good enough to get a workout. The pool us heated and has a nice area to lounge around, and some bbq grills you can use. Because of Covid they don’t do daily cleaning, but failed to inform us at checking, which led to a big disappointment when we returned to a dirty room when we were out all day. They have a breakfasts buffet which is standard for this type of hotel, but it was poorly maintained, and always seemed to be out of food. They have Covid measures in place that everyone ignored and are not enforced by the staff. Except when it comes to cleaning your room every day? Service was the biggest weakness at this hotel. Maybe they will get better in time.…
The room was spacious and ergonomically well-considered. It would be easy to stay here on an extended basis. It was very clean, which isn’t how we usually find hotel rooms. The kitchen had a few things so you could do some meals, but didn’t include any seasonings or oils. It’s a shame to have to buy olive oil for only a couple of days. The staff were kind enough to let us bring up a salt/pepper shaker from the breakfast area. The bed was comfy and fine; we both slept well except… our room faced the freeway and it was loud and incessant. When I would open the window (about 6 inches, all that’s allowed) we couldn’t last long, and couldn’t really hear the TV or even our own conversation. I tried to do some outside work by the very nice pool and tables and grills - but I couldn’t hear my clients on Zoom, and the WiFi could’ve been stronger. I had to go back indoors - so I was stuck there for two 10-hour shifts, and opening the window for fresh air…well, we covered that. The breakfast was standard: eggs, make-you-own waffles, fresh fruit. Well maintained and some very helpful staff. The only yogurt in the fridge was Activa. Soundproofing could’ve been a bit better: we could hear someone snoring late into the evening. But the hallways were clean and pleasant. The gym looked nice, but we didn’t have a chance to use it. A quick drive will put you into a lot of restaurants and grocery stores. A short walk will get you to some very nice hiking trails. There’s no place to plug in your car there, or nearby. That’ll need to change. My Marriott Platinum status was acknowledged at check in with points (my choice) but I don’t think the room was an upgrade. Overall, a wonderful hotel if you don’t face the freeway.…
This is one of the loudest places I've ever stayed. Was here on a weeknight in a downstairs room. The walls are very thin, I could hear neighbors talking, laughing and listening to their TVs all night. I could hear toilets flush. I could occasionally hear cars drive by on the nearby freeway but that wasn't as bad as the noise within the hotel.
