We stayed in this motel for a night, on our way to Jasper from Edmonton. Having read the reviews, I expected something absolutely awful. I will fully admit that we maybe lucked out with the room, but overall it was a pleasant enougn night. Now, the motel is not modern and the surrounding areas are grim. However, we had found the beds to be comfortable, and the rooms to be clean (though definitely not stylish or old). The kitchen was well equiped (which was important to us, since we brought a lot of food with us), and mercifully, the bathroom was clean. Plus, the management had managed to arrange a later arrival and an earlier departure for us as well. In short, don't book this place for a charming romantic evening, or something like that - but as a place to lay down our heads, it did the trick well. Now, perhaps management had started paying attention to the reviews on here, or perhaps we got very lucky, but overall our night was better than expected.…

Don't believe the reviews, it is NOT a 2 star. We are campers, so a campsite or even sleeping in the car would have been better. It smells of 50 years of stale cigarette smoke is overpowering. The smell may have emanated from the 50 year old carpet. Oh boy, the stories that carpet could tell... from the decades of DNA embedded in it of course. Pro-tip: leave your shoes on. The bathroom: ok if you don't look at the dirty fingerprints on the wall then you may be ok. What is that dirt, you ask? It's better if we just imagine the previous guests were avid gardeners. For the love of God, don't pull back the shower curtain or you'll find the soap-scum from the last 100 people. Again, don't let your mind wander. Stay in the present. So if the carpet is dirty and the bathroom is dirty, that doesn't mean the bed is dirty, right? Who knows but we weren't taking that chance. We slept on the covers, fully clothed so as to at least have a barrier between us and the syphilis cells lurking below us. The A/C unit is located conveniently beside the bed. The mouldy smell blowing onto your face blended with cigarette smell will give you wicked dreams. Lastly, cat urine. Although dogs are allowed at this motel, we all know the cats are in charge, as they have definitely marked their territory in the office/store. On the plus side, if you are looking for a great location to shoot a horror film, this place at dusk is perfect!!…

motel is very aged...checked in as working in area and was needing monthly rate ...firstly i find the manager changed the rate as my buddy had talked to him about rate and relayed it to me before i came to town....( i had to pay for room up front and right away he put on receipt "no refund" )...... secondly the room i was given the toilet would not stop running ... the friendly cleaning person told me that another room was available and in much better shape... well after a shower next day i thought i had not closed curtain enough and ran water onto floor an drug...i apologized to cleaning person... happened again ..and i was more careful next time.... once again i loaded towels around floor and doorway as i could not figure it out,,,,as it turns out it was running from in behind shower and down wall...all im thinking is to get through this and find another place...the bathtub has rust around drain ...the hot water heat does not work ...cleaning lady gave me small heater for my room....…

I have never checked into a room that was so dirty upon arrival. As I was moving into my room other people were leaving that had just used the room for a meeting. There was mud on the floor, the kitchen sink was disgusting(I was afraid to put my dirty dishes in it). The bathroom counter was all stained as well as the shower walls. I would have not stayed there if I had a choice. About 10 years ago I stayed at the Pembina and it wasn't much better. But I also stayed at the Evansburgh Hotel 10 years ago and in my opinion between Entwhistle and right across the highway Evansburgh the Evansburgh Hotel is the Best Place to stay for the price.
