The lobby of this hotel sports turnstiles (yes, like those in subways/undergrounds) that lead to the spa. Hotel guests are funneled into a narrow path leading to the elevators. Evidently, the spa is doing great business (according to word of mouth, offering "happy ending" massages), and the hotel guests are often short-changed. At breakfast, my wife asked for tea (tea in China, for chrissake!), and was told they didn't have any. When she asked for boiling water, it took five minutes for someone to fetch it. The hotel offers wi-fi, but only in the lounge. I spent some awkward moments in a dressing gown getting my email in the lobby. Our room was beyond strange. In addition to a fairly well appointed bedroom, they had a "living room" with a window, which looked, for all the world, like a neglected storeroom, with chairs along the wall, no appointments of any kind, no sofas, rein.…
