We stayed in one of the penthouse units at level 38. The Sky Deck occupies levels 40 while the swimming pools / chalet are one floor up. There's also a gym at the top floor (level 42). Further down, a Rejuvenating Deck and Terraced Garden occupy levels 5 and 9 respectively. The unit we stayed in comes with 2 resident parking bays at level 5. Additional parking costs RM10 per car per night and can be found at levels 2-3. Windmill has a picturesque setting with balconies facing the verdant hills (a view possible for the time being before a new building under construction eventually rises to block the view). The property is situated about a 5-minute drive down from Genting Highlands Premium Outlets. You can see the cable cars travelling up to the Genting Highlands complex in the distance as well as part of Awana Genting Highlands Golf Course and Resorts World Awana. To cap it off, the temperature was a pleasant 22degC in mid-afternoon with fog rolling by. The 3 heated swimming pools together with the oft photographed A-shaped chalet at level 41 are a feature worth checking out, especially on a chilly (and foggy) day. On a less positive note however, we were frustrated by the building's lift system which is clearly unable to cope with the passenger traffic (4 lifts serving the whole building with another 2 catering to the carpark levels), especially close to check-out/in hours. If luck isn't on your side, pls be prepared to wait up to half an hour to get a lift to your floor. The lift experience was further frustrated by the 4-rider limitation pandemic SOP currently in place. Our penthouse unit is contemporarily decorated and furnished. It is a dual-key unit. The larger section comprises 3 bedrooms (2 of which have ensuite bathrooms), a small living room cum dining area and a small kitchen (with induction cooker). The standalone single unit which is not directly connected to the main unit has an attached bathroom (no kitchen though). All in all, save for the negative lift experience, Windmill makes for a good 2-day staycation in the cooling environment of Genting Highlands. For those who wish to do more than just chill out (literally), the Genting entertainment complex is just a short hop away by car. …
The homestay properties are managed by several companies, depend on which one you took. The unit i booked faced Sin Swee Temple and Genting directly so its a very nice view. The unit is a duplex unit where the main bedroom is upstair. The unit came with a kitchen where you can do some light cooking for breakfast so this is a great place for you to spend some time indoor other than your own place HOWEVER there are only 6 lifts to serve 40 floors x 3 wings x 10 units per wings. Spent nearly 45m just waiting for enough room for us to squeeze in the lift to go to our unit on 33rd floor. How you look on it, its a design miscalculation from the developer. Imagine a lift broke down, there will be massive congestion at the lift lobby for sure.
