Alleged this was a deluxe studio whereas it was a basic hotel room style without any front desk on location and no tea or coffee provide Room was advertised as 31m2 but it was closer to 21m2 Check in was complicated, had to check in at a different building 200m from the building where the room was located View from the window was nice until you looked down at the cigarettes and packets that had been discarded

Booked via Agoda, struggled to get the grab to find the hotel. In the end we found it was called Windmill Upon Hills which is also different to the reviews. Was not easy to find where to check in. Eventually checked in and had to give 200MYR deposit on arrival. We were given the card to our room. It appears that it is not a hotel but that they own a number of rooms within the big apartment block and some of the others around you are residents and other hotels who have brought rooms too. The key was sticky in the door making it hard to open and lock the door. The window also had a gap in it where bugs and sounds could get through, out of our window you could see and hear a construction site. We mentioned the window and key to the reception, maintenance came and spent 20 minutes fixing the window and gave us a new key which we appreciated. Although the new key was also sticky, I think they must all just be like that. The room was very basic, no TV. Although toothbrush, cheap slippers were provided. Also came with kettle, hairdryer and iron+ironing board. The bed had a leg broken on it and they only supplied half of a toilet roll. The pillows also seemed to feel damp but we couldn’t figure out why. Saw small black hairs on the pillowcases. We were ok because there was no one in the room next to us, but if so I could imagine it could be quite loud as there is a door which leads to the room next door that you can see light through proving there isn’t much sound proofing. You can hear the construction in the mornings with the windows closed and anyone walking down the corridors shouting or children screaming. The place is quite far from all main things to do in Genting highlands if you do not drive. It is extremely difficult to get a grab as no one accepts the jobs to go to resorts or the temple. Taxis are hard to get and they charge 100MYR just to go a 10 minute drive even though they state they are budget. I would recommend if you are not driving then to stay somewhere closer to the Genting resorts. It was much easier to get a grab from up there. If you drive, this place is ok if you’re looking for something basic.…

Stayed 4nights at Windmill Premier Suites while in Genting (June’2022) Prior To Arrival: Was informed that the key collection was at another location (Geo38 Residences) which is directly opposite the apartment On the same day of arrival, a WhatsApp chat was created for easy communication. Upon Arrival/Departure - Instructions for key collection from another location was crystal clear. - Things requirement for a smooth key collection are Passport & cash RM200 for deposit. Alternatively, you can use credit card but note that the fund will take 7days to process/credit back. - Communication with a breeze via what’s app. They staffs are very friendly & helpful. - Instructions given was simple & easy on which entrance for car park. How to use the cards for carpark, lift & room access. -Carpark is free with the card - Check in was a breeze as the cottage was ready upon arrival - Check out was a breeze as well The Suite (Apartment) - Simple, nicely decorated with beautiful Genting view & quiet surrounding. - The apartment has balcony & seatings for you to chill & enjoyed the view - The living room has a comfortable couch right beside the balcony sliding window panel which you can look out & enjoyed the view from the inside too if it’s get too cold sitting outside - Kitchen is small & simple equipped - There’s washing machine in the room as well - No additional trash bags to change the bin. Asked but did not come - Genting/mountain view can also be viewed from the 1st bedroom - Toilets was clean with basic toiletries placed on the shelf - No shower curtains in the bathroom so the whole place is pretty wet when showering. - Drainage in the bathroom was slow to the extend that it will have a little flood at the shower area. - Water dripping @ the toilet bowl area thus this place also wet. - Toilet paper 🧻 was pathetic for a start. There’s no refill stock available in the apartment. When asked for it, it never come. - Towels are folded & placed on bed Nearby: Many small apartment & hotels Quite a few Chinese eateries. (Recommend the Claypot Seafood Bee Hoon at the Chinese restaurant beside Watson) Many conveniences stores Watson, 7-11 & Starbucks are nearby as well Important Note: - Apartment from MapleHome has no air-con but honestly, there’s no need cause it’s very cooling. - Please park @ designated parking lot to avoid RM100 fine. - There’s only 1 set of cards so need to plan well if you all are coming back at a different time cause without the lift card, you will not be able to take the lift to your apartment level. - Food delivery is not available in this area, not even McDonald’s so sock up your own food, tibits & drinks - Avoid peak time when heading out/in cause the wait for the lift can be as long as 15mins. Summary - Reasonable price for a decent apartment, good location to go up to Genting & KL with great view (minus the construction site)…
