You can see steward island from your queen bed thats so soft you never want to leave.it was hard to find as it has a small sign where it is.but found it after a pn call.its close to riverton and gemstone beach reason for the visit down there.and to see friends in invercargill
We booked for 2 nights and would have happily left after an hour if there had been other accommodation available. We along with one other person were staying in the accommodation. Our son and his partner came to visit and the host advised no visitors allowed. We offerd to pay to allow them to eat with us,however Freddie was inflexible. This is some of the worst display of New Zealand hospitality ever. My advice is avoid at a cost
We stayed after a long muddy tramp on Stewart Island to sort ourselves out before doing the Hump Ridge Track as a winter walk; and we stayed again afterwards. Kathryn and Freddy were superb hosts. They made us feel very welcome and allowed us to sort out our gear on a beautiful sunny day. On our return they lit the woodburner so we had a very cosy evening. Very highly recommended and we'd certainly stay next time we are in the area. Many thanks.
Had one of my best night's sleep in a long time. The bed was comfy, the sheets were soft and clean-smelling. A new, well-appointed large kitchen and sitting area is shared amongst the four rooms. A quiet, beautiful lodge set amongst rolling farm fields, near the ocean and great food in Riverton.
Stayed here for one night recently enroute Bluff to Doubtfull Sound. When we arrived, after a short delay, we were warmly welcomed by the owner. She had been working with her horses. This Lodge can accommodate a number of guests with communal cooking and lounge. We were on our own and were very comfortable. The lodge is well off the main road and is quiet and surrounded by farmland. Outside there are three very friendly dogs who want you to play ball with them. An excellent overnight, or possibly longer?
