at this range of price and in such a small city I didn't expect a good hotel but it was really good and comfortable with a good view and clean rooms. restaurants foods are not good enough but you can ask the reservation to order your food from the city.
Rooms in this hotel are very basic and all the whole interior gives a neglected impression. The chicken kebab ( one of the two options for dinner) was good and it is the only option near to the Bishapur archaeological site.
As we were taking a bus from ahvaz to Shiraz, we realised it would have been convenient to stop on the way to visit Bishapour, one of the sights that are usually visited from Shiraz, and to do so we got off the bus at Quaemyeh, which is the closest stop to Kazerun, where this hotel is. Information on this area is limited as people just pass by on their day tour from Shiraz, so here's a bit more 1. You may be told that the bus will stop at Kazerun, it will actually be somewhere before Kazerun (should be called Quaemyeh) 2. Grab a taxi when you get off the bus, this won't be easy as while they are all keen to drive you, they only speak Farsi and very few know of Bishapur hotel, albeit it seems the only one in the area 3. Ride should be max 200,000 Rs but that depends on how good you are at haggling in a foreign language 4. Plan your visit in the morning as the site will likely be closed by the time you get there from Ahwaz, especially if you want to hike up the mountain 5. We pre arranged a driver to pick us up at the hotel in the morning, take us to the site and then to Shiraz, we paid 40$ for this and we were very happy with him (good English and good knowledge of the site, albeit he's not a guide) so please message me if you want his contact Now, on the hotel: - the agency mentioned this was a 2 star so my expectations were incredibly low, it turned out above expectations and as always in Iran the room was very clean - we paid 50eur for a double booked through an agency, may be cheaper if you book directly but I would not know how as they don't seem to have an email address and they speak very little English - our double was a big room (double + single) with private bathroom (hot water of course), fridge with complimentary water and beds hard as a rock (no exaggeration here, it felt like a box had been covered with padding). I had a great sleep on it but I prefer a hard mattress to a soft one, so you have been warned - overall the hotel shows good intentions with the decor however it feels unfinished, eg the carpets in the hallways are not fitted, the windows won't lock (not great for safety when your windows looks onto a common balcony) and there are only cables where a ceiling lamp should be - given the little English spoken I did not bother questioning our room but it had been clearly smoked in, so you may want to clarify with the agency that you'd like a non smoking room, if that's your preference of course - we had good dinner for two, with fish and vegetables for 550,000IRs (c.10 eur). Breakfast was somewhat depressing with cucumber tomatoes cheese and flat bread, but that is the typical local breakfast and nothing to say about the freshness of the veggies!…
We enjoyed of our short residence in Kazeroon because of friendly people not only in hotel, but also in the town area. We stayed one night in the nowruz (high season) so the hotel was crowded and personnel were busy, but they paid attention to all of their own guests Unfortunately the elevator is out of order
